On April 10th, 2020, the 35,000 member community of r/teenagers was woken up by several pings from Pigeon, the server bot. The incident caused not only hundreds of pings throughout the server, but also handing out a handful to mutes, even losing over a hundred members out of irritation.

The person behind 4/11

Sometime in early 2020, Altii shared the source code of the server’s bot, Pigeon, with an ex-moderator named MarkusG.

On April 10th, 2020, at 6:07 PM EST, Mark utilized an overseen exploit using the bot’s “!!usage” command; entering a phrase that was not a command within the bot would result in the output of “Could not find command: ___”. By entering “!!usage @everyone” into #bot-commands, Pigeon responded with the now-infamous phrase, “Could not find command: @everyone”
